So, I’m Sam!! I’m a fun loving, enthusiastic extrovert who has always been in love with a party. As long as I can remember I have been all about celebrating life, love, friendship and everything in between. My passion is in organising events that make people happy, excited and come away from it thinking “best day ever!!”.
To me, a wedding ceremony is the most important event of your wedding day. Yes, the reception should rock your socks off, but the ceremony sets the tone and mood for the rest of the day.
From the start, I knew my passion was in hosting events and giving back to the community.
In 2006, I completed my University studies in B. Social Science (Recreation and Tourism) at the University of Newcastle. I was fortunate to get a job with a charity doing fundraising and organising events including recreation days and week-long camps. This is where I learnt hands on skills for events, including risk management, facilitating and speaking in front of large crowds.
Since then I have had 3 beautiful children, run several small businesses, completed my Certificate IV in Celebrancy and am an appointed Marriage Celebrant.
If I had any free time between wrangling my 3 young, energetic girls and running a small businesse, you would find me socialising, catching up with friends, reading books, seeing live bands, getting creative with craft activities, sewing or cooking up a storm for everyone and anyone.
What gave me the idea to become a Celebrant?
The thought first popped into my head one evening when I saw a TV show (CSI to be precise). One of the suspects wanted to marry people so much that he created a false identity to be able to do it. It clicked to me that it makes sense to follow your passions (but not necessarily the illegal part). I immediately shouted out to my husband “I know what I want to do with my life!!”. That night I decided I wanted to be the ‘someone’ who could help 2 people in love to create their ideal wedding ceremony.
